21 Day jumpstart

12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope[a] in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. - 1 Corinthians 15:12-19

There have been times in my life that I have read a devotion like this and immediately disregarded what it said about God, myself and my future. I struggled with a foundational truth in my walk with the Lord. Is God’s word true? When I read the scripture above I am brought to the conclusion that this is all true or all false. If it's all false and some made up ideology then let's go to Vegas, run up our credit and do anything we feel like doing. Who cares about anyone else and how they feel, nothing matters anyways – right? 

Or, it’s all true. If it’s all true, then that changes everything. How we feel, think, respond to others and how we love. I pray that you would wrestle with the reality of Is God’s word true, today. If not, we are choosing to trust something else. Our faith will be placed in something other than the authority of God’s word and what it says about, God, You and who He has called you to be. Let today be the day you stand firm on this truth. 

Fear is a constant, we either sit in it or walk through it. As you trust in the truth of God’s word and what it says, you are choosing to walk through the fears that are thrown at you from the enemy. Don’t let this be another devotion where you hope God will do something. Let today be the moment you choose to have a spirit not of fear, but power, love and a sound mind. God is faithful, trust Him through this journey. 

How can you choose to trust in the ultimate authority of God and His word? 

Take time today to pray to the Father to give you courage and boldness as you let these moments be the start of a new journey with God.
