1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither in all that he does, he prospers. - Psalm 1:1-3
What an amazing challenge for us as followers of Christ first and foremost, but it is also a reminder of how we should be shepherding our families and those we lead. It is honestly as simple as it states. Let’s be men who are willing to stand in the gap for our families and lead with intentionality. Let’s be men who are willing to say no to sin and the wickedness that this world offers.
Can we instead, find our ultimate satisfaction in Christ alone? Can we be men who are willing to delight ourselves in His word and allow it to marinate our lives in such a way that we may pour out the truth of those scriptures onto our spouses, children and those we lead?
It states, if we do that, we will be like a tree planted by streams of water yielding fruit, in such a way that we will not wither, but instead, be prosperous in what we do.
Gentleman, I am praying that we would continue to grow in the knowledge of God and bear fruit.
For us to bear fruit let’s get to the root. Where do you receive your nutrients? We can only bear this fruit as we hold close to the truth of God's word and be lead by His Spirit. Take time today to dig deeper into the truth of Gods word by reading a Psalm or a proverb. Or start a journey in one of the Gospels. Make pursing the scriptures part of your daily life, you will not regret seeking Him more.
Where in the Bible can you start to read today?
