Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways. - Proverbs 28:6
I came across this verse as I was reading the other day and I haven’t gotten it out of my mind. I don’t want to bring attention to the “rich / poor” part of this verse, but I want to key in on the “integrity / crookedness” that is discussed.
The scripture tells us that it is better for a man to walk in integrity than it is to be crooked in his ways.
I am convinced that our spouses, children, and those we lead are watching and holding onto the way we function on a daily basis. I know they see and hear how we respond to situations as they arise and are being led as we model the gospel with our actions and words.
It is so important that our families see us having integrity in all things. My prayer is that they never see us settle into doing things crookedly in an effort to get the outcome we desire.
I am convinced that if we walk with integrity in all things, our spouses, children and those we lead will fall more in love with us, respect us, and see the value we place on putting our hope in Christ.
We have such an amazing platform in leading our families and others we interact with. May we always walk and talk in a way that models integrity leading others to see the value of a life where we will hear the words “well done, my good and faithful servant.”.
May you lead your families and those around you with this clarity and purpose.
What is an area of your life that you need to acknowledge a lack of integrity? Share that with God and if possible, someone you respect.
